Private AI for firms that can't send client files to someone else's cloud.

Tiber River Consulting is a technology consulting firm that designs, builds, and governs AI systems that run entirely on hardware you control. Your documents stay in your custody. Every answer shows its source. Every decision leaves a record. Our flagship is the Tiber River Legal Workbench, built for law firms that intend to keep it that way. We also serve independent insurance agencies with Private Policy Renewal Review.

Private Policy Renewal Review for independent insurance agencies

Commercial renewals span hundreds of pages, and material changes hide in forms, endorsements, schedules, exclusions, limits, and deductibles. Our private policy review appliance compares the expiring policy against the renewal documents and hands your account team a cited worklist, each finding pointing to the exact page and wording in both documents. The system does not interpret coverage and makes no recommendations. Your licensed team determines what each change means and what to advise the client.

The renewal review is one of three checks the same appliance performs across the life of a commercial policy. Each one compares documents that are supposed to agree, cites the exact page when they do not, and leaves the decision with your licensed team.

Quote comparison, before you bind

Two, three, or four carrier quotes for the same risk, aligned coverage by coverage with citations to each quote. Gaps in the cheaper quote are flagged; provisions that cannot be confidently matched are marked for professional review, never silently equated. The system does not rank quotes or recommend one.

Policy checking, at issuance

When the carrier issues the policy, it is checked line by line against the binder and quote you bound. Missing forms, changed limits, and altered dates become cited findings, ready for a correction request to the carrier. A clean check produces a match certificate: an itemized, verifiable record that the policy was checked and reconciled.

Renewal review, every year

Expiring policy against the renewal documents, at either stage: the pre-bind renewal proposal with its supporting forms, or the issued renewal policy. Every identified change is cited to its page in both documents, then reviewed and signed off by your account team before the renewal goes out the door.

Built-in governance

Every review leaves a complete, tamper-evident record of what was compared, what was found, who reviewed it, and what they decided. Our controls, testing, and documentation are informed by insurance regulatory guidance, including the NAIC's model bulletin on artificial intelligence and Maryland's Bulletin 24-11. The full record is ready for your E&O carrier or an examiner on request.

Become a Founding Agency. We are inviting a small number of Maryland independent agencies to shape this service before general release: a free 90-day pilot built around last year's renewals, run on our appliance in your office. Your client files never leave your building, even during the pilot.

What We Do

A technology consulting firm that leads with AI

We build working systems, not slide decks. Our practice is grounded in a simple belief: the businesses with the most to gain from AI are the ones that can least afford to send their data to someone else's computer.

Private AI systems

We design and build AI that runs on hardware you own, tuned to your documents and your workflows. No subscriptions to a distant platform, no client data in transit, and full ownership of the result.

AI governance and audit readiness

If a regulator, auditor, or carrier asked how your AI works, could you answer? We build the testing, documentation, and evidence trails that let you say yes, and prove it.

Applied technology strategy

Honest counsel on where AI genuinely helps your business, where it doesn't, and what to build first. We tell you when the right answer is a simpler tool, because it often is.

Who We Serve

Regulated professions, where trust is the product

Flagship · Serving now

Legal

No profession has stricter duties about where client documents go. Law firms run on pleadings, discovery, transcripts, and medical records, and every one of them is confidential. We build systems that read the record carefully, cite every finding to its page, and keep the files, the models, and the logs inside the firm. The Tiber River Legal Workbench is our flagship, built for litigation and personal injury practices.

Serving now

Insurance

Independent agencies and brokerages live on documents: policies, endorsements, schedules, quotes. Private Policy Renewal Review compares them precisely and documents every step, covering the policy lifecycle with renewal review, policy checking, and quote comparison on one private appliance.

Where we're headed

Healthcare and financial services

The same discipline travels: professions built on confidential documents and professional accountability need AI that keeps data in the building and keeps a licensed human in charge. If that describes your organization, we should talk.

About

Founder-led, Maryland-based, evidence-first

Tiber River Consulting is a Maryland technology consulting firm. We are small by design: senior work, done directly, with no hand-offs. Three principles run through everything we build.

Your data stays yours

We build systems that run on hardware you control. Your documents remain in your custody. Privacy is an architecture, not a policy document.

Evidence over hype

Every claim we make is measured before it is spoken. Every system we ship can show its work, page and line.

People stay in charge

Our systems prepare the work and keep the record. Licensed professionals make the decisions. That line does not move.

Let's talk about what you're working on

Whether you lead a litigation practice weighing what AI should mean for client confidentiality, or run an independent agency curious about the renewal review, the conversation starts with an email. Your documents stay right where they are.
